Coffee & Cake with Harriet Tyce | 9th March, 2PM, Linghams

We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Harriet Tyce for an afternoon coffee & cake event. If you don't know her from her bestselling novels, you'll definitely know her as the reigning Traitor Hunter!

We can't wait to get to know her, and chat about her upcoming novel, Witch Trial.

A devastating murder case has shocked Edinburgh. Seemingly, two
teenage girls turned on one of their classmates, Christian Shaw, causing her death during a macabre dark magic ritual. The girls are in the dock, in what the press are inevitably calling a Witch Trial.

Matthew Phillips, a respected heart surgeon, is called up for jury service - and perhaps against his better judgement he decides that he should do his civic duty rather than abstain on a professional exemption. That decision will change his life forever, the gruesome details of the teenage girl’s murder unfolding before him and his peers on the jury bench.

The question is, what really caused Christian Shaw’s death?
Let the Witch Trial begin . . .

Harriet Tyce grew up in Edinburgh and studied English at Oxford
University before doing a law conversion course at City University. She practised as a criminal barrister in London for nearly a decade, and subsequently completed an MA in Creative Writing - Crime Fiction at the University of East Anglia.

Her first novel, Blood Orange, published in 2019 to huge critical acclaim and her second, third and fourth novels The Lies You Told, It Ends at Midnight and A Lesson in Cruelty have been Sunday Times bestsellers. Witch Trial is her fifth novel.
